After a building collapse from snow load during the winter of 2006/07, I spent several months attempting to procure a contractor to build a new 50’ X 100’ X 18’ truck shop.
The overheated construction industry made it almost impossible to get a firm commitment to build at a given time from any contactor in the area; also, their quoted cost of construction was unreasonable.

Relief from this dilemma came when my next door neighbour stated he was going to Beaverlodge to look at a “Goodon” truck shop that had been recently built. I accompanied him and was impressed with the quality of the building.

I contacted Del Neufeld, the Goodon area salesman, providing a sketch of the proposed building on the 19th of April 2007, and on the 26th April, the major portion of the building material arrived at our building site.

Goodon building contractor, (a local firm) arrived within days to begin erection at a time when we were experiencing some of the most inclement weather of the season. Work continued without complaint, and was completed in short order.

After the concrete floor was poured, the crew returned to complete insulation, interior gyproc, and metal cladding.

Interestingly, throughout this transaction, the telephone was the only form of contact I had with Goodon personnel. They were pleasant, professional, trusting, and straight forward.

P.S. Today we had -35 wind chill. The building was toasty warm with little effort from the radiant heaters.

Last spring I had a shop set up on my acreage in Saskatchewan near Strasbourg. The main use of this building is to house my collection of classic cars. I have been very happy with it!
